Vocalist and New Age composer Jillian Goldin unites vibrant, soulful
melodies with the sounds of cultures across the world. Inspired by such
artists as Enya and Loreena McKennitt, she strives to evoke an emotional
response through her music while exploring new methods of lyrical
communication.
Coming from an extensive background in operatic performance, Jillian is
well equipped for the stage while maintaining a keen interest in
original composition. Her voice can be heard on the soundtrack to the
critically acclaimed video game Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword in
both solo and ensemble context, and she has engaged in a number of
contemporary musical activities from film & TV recordings to her own
arrangements of popular video game themes.
Jillian's debut solo album, Origins, was released on Earth Day 2008 in
conjunction with a fundraiser for The Nature Conservancy's Plant a
Billion Trees campaign. Assistant- produced by electronica artist and
frequent collaborator Andrew Aversa (a.k.a. "zircon"), the CD features
soaring vocal tracks mixed with a dash of ethnic/electronic flavor. One
of her compositions, “Hajime,” has garnered attention as the March
$5,000 Grand Prize Winner at OurStage.com, and winner of the Mystic
Soundscapes Best Tracks of 2007 Award. Origins is now available through
JillianGoldin.com, as well as CD Baby, iTunes, and other major
distributors.
